How I look after your details
The short version: I collect as little as I can, I use it for the thing you asked for, and I don't sell it or share it for anyone else's marketing.

Who I am
This site is run by The Curiosity Experiment Ltd, company number 15246971, registered office: Palm House, 14 Ashton Drive, Nelson, Lancashire, United Kingdom, BB9 0UA. I'm Clare Inkster, and I'm the person responsible for your data.
Email: clare@thecuriosityexperiment.co.uk
I'm registered with the Information Commissioner's Office.
What I collect and why
When you send an enquiry. Your name, email, organisation (if you give it) and your message. I use these to reply to you, and to keep a record of our conversation.
When you buy the workbook. Your name, email and order details (what you bought, how much, and when). I use these to send you the workbook and download link, and to keep proper business records. Card details go straight to Stripe. I never see or store them.
If you tick the newsletter box. Your email and name, plus a record of when and how you agreed, including the exact wording you saw. I send one email asking you to confirm. Nothing else happens unless you click the link. I'm not sending newsletters yet, but when I do, this is the list I'll use.
Cookies and tracking. I don't use advertising cookies, and I don't have any analytics on this site. A few small technical things you should know about, though:
- The fonts load from Google Fonts, so your browser asks Google's servers for them. That shares your IP address with Google.
- The workbook checkout is provided by Stripe. Stripe may set its own cookies on that page to stop fraud.
- The online AI experiment saves your answers in your own browser so you can pick up where you left off. They aren't sent to me.
- The site's hosting sets two small technical cookies. One (called __dpl) lasts 24 hours and simply makes sure you're shown a consistent version of the site — it holds no personal information. The other (__cf_bm) is set by Cloudflare to help block automated abuse.
My legal basis
Replying to your enquiry, and supplying the workbook you've bought, are things you've asked me to do. Keeping purchase records is also something the law asks of me.
The newsletter is based on your consent. You can withdraw it at any time, and that won't affect anything that happened before.
Who handles the data
- Lovable Cloud hosts the website and database, and sends the site's emails (enquiry notifications, order emails and the newsletter confirmation).
- Stripe processes payments.
When I start sending newsletters I'll use an email service for it, and I'll update this page to say which one.
How long I keep it
- Enquiries: up to 2 years after we last spoke, unless we go on to work together.
- Purchase and invoice records: 6 years, for accounting.
- Newsletter: until you unsubscribe.
Your rights
You can ask me to:
- show you what I hold about you
- correct anything that's wrong
- delete your details
- stop using them (you can object)
- take you off the newsletter (withdraw consent)
Just email me. If you're unhappy with how I've handled your data, you can complain to the Information Commissioner's Office at ico.org.uk. I'd be grateful for the chance to put it right first.
Changes to this notice
If anything changes, I'll update this page and the date at the top.
